Motion Blur

Motion blur can make fast motions feel more natural.

For timing and easing controls that affect how fast a move feels, see Timing and Easing.

Shutter Angle controls the length of the blur.

Samples controls the blur quality.

Use motion blur when the clip moves, scales, or rotates quickly.

If the motion is slow or mostly static, motion blur may not be necessary.

Motion blur is one of the more expensive visual options.

If playback slows down while editing, reduce the Samples or turn motion blur off temporarily and enable it again before final preview or export.

For more performance notes, see Rendering and Quality.

Too much motion blur can make small UI-style layouts feel soft or hard to read.

Use the lowest amount that gives the movement the feel you want.
