Shadow Controls
Shadow controls add a drop shadow behind the Motion State frame.
Like transform, crop, and stroke controls, shadow settings can be different for State A and State B. Motion State interpolates the shadow during the transition.
Enable Shadow
Section titled “Enable Shadow”Turn on Enable Shadow for State A, State B, or both states.
When shadow is disabled for a state, that state’s shadow detail controls are hidden. If shadow is enabled for only one state, the shadow can fade in or out as the clip animates.
Shadow Color
Section titled “Shadow Color”Shadow Color sets the color of the shadow.
Most shadows should use black or a very dark color, but colored shadows can be useful for stylized UI-style motion.
Shadow Opacity
Section titled “Shadow Opacity”Shadow Opacity controls how visible the shadow is.
Use lower values for subtle separation and higher values for a more graphic look.
Direction
Section titled “Direction”Direction controls the angle of the shadow.
The shadow direction is screen-based, so the perceived light direction stays consistent even if the clip rotates.
Distance
Section titled “Distance”Distance controls how far the shadow is offset from the frame.
Softness
Section titled “Softness”Softness controls how soft the shadow edge appears.
How shadow renders
Section titled “How shadow renders”The shadow is cast from the Motion State frame shape, including crop, corner radius, and corner smoothness.
It renders behind the clip content, stroke, and glow.
