Section titled “Type Jazz does not appear in the Window menu”Confirm that Type Jazz.jsx is inside the Scripts/ScriptUI Panels folder for the After Effects version you opened, then restart After Effects.
Type Jazz asks to change the expressions engine
Section titled “Type Jazz asks to change the expressions engine”Open File > Project Settings > Expressions and set Expressions Engine to JavaScript. The Legacy ExtendScript engine is not supported.
A preset adds a second Type Jazz effect
Section titled “A preset adds a second Type Jazz effect”Undo the preset, select the existing Type Jazz effect in Effect Controls, then apply the preset again. The included presets are value overlays and need the existing Type Jazz effect selected.
The presets do not work after updating to 1.1.0
Section titled “The presets do not work after updating to 1.1.0”Replace the old preset library with the Type Jazz Presets folder included in the 1.1.0 download. Presets from previous versions do not match the 1.1.0 effect.
A preset looks wrong, or barely moves
Section titled “A preset looks wrong, or barely moves”Click the panel’s In animation type or Out animation type button and choose the type the preset uses. Its folder says which. A preset writes control values, so it can set the movement type without switching the matching animators on. See Finish with the animation type button.
Bounce looks like Oscillate
Section titled “Bounce looks like Oscillate”Check Ease High and Ease Low. Animation type changes do not reset your easing values, and some easing combinations can make Bounce resemble Oscillate.
X and Y Rotation do nothing
Section titled “X and Y Rotation do nothing”Click Toggle per-character 3D in the Type Jazz panel. With Per-Character 3D disabled, use Z Rotation for 2D rotation.
A Code Runner button does nothing
Section titled “A Code Runner button does nothing”The button says why it could not run: either Type Jazz is not in a ScriptUI Panels folder, or an install older than 1.1.0 is answering first. See Code Runner.
The variable font axis button shows no axes
Section titled “The variable font axis button shows no axes”Variable font animation requires After Effects 26.0 or newer and a text layer using a variable font that exposes one or more axes.
