Code Runner

Code Runner is a free, dockable After Effects panel that turns the things you do twenty times a day into buttons. A button can run a script, apply an expression, apply a preset, fire a menu command, or stamp an ease onto your selected keyframes, and it can carry several of those actions at once.

It installs as four identical panels sharing one library, so a different collection can sit in a different part of your workspace.

  • Six button types: scripts, expressions, presets, menu commands, eases, and extensions
  • Organize buttons into collections and nested folders — as a list, an icon grid, or a buttons-only board
  • Search everything — folders holding a match open on their own
  • Customize every button with icons (5,000+ built in, or your own SVGs) and colors
  • Give a button more than one action with alternates, reached by a modifier or a long press
  • Dock up to four panels sharing one library, each on its own collection
  • Share collections as a single file, and back up your whole library
  • Starts useful — a fresh install ships with a starter collection of 29 working buttons

Code Runner is free and works in After Effects 2021 and newer, on Windows and macOS. Get it at jakeinmotion.com/code-runner.
